Dust-extracted straw litter is made from the best rye straw. It is fiberized, dedusted, and hydraulically pressed into handy 22kg bales with high pressure in our facility.
The absorbency is 3 times higher than long straw because the natural wax layer has been removed. Rye straw contains natural bitter substances and is generally not eaten by horses. To improve the stable climate, we can add essential oils to the rye straw.
For the initial bedding, two bales are needed, plus one bale per week for replenishment. Dust-extracted straw litter is delivered on Euro pallets, with a rain cover available upon request for outdoor storage.
Mucking out with a close-tined fork is much faster and requires significantly less effort. Moist straw litter and horse droppings remain on the fork, while unused bedding sifts back to the ground through the gaps between the tines. This economical consumption results in up to 75% less manure compared to straw.
Save material, working time, and drastically reduce the amount of manure!
By using dust-extracted straw litter, the resulting manure decomposes into high-quality humus in approx. 12 weeks, which facilitates its reuse as fertilizer for e.g. garden needs.
After cutting open the foil, the straw litter loosens up and is easy to spread. For the first initial bedding, please fork it thoroughly to increase slip resistance.
For the initial bedding, two bales are needed, plus one bale per week for replenishment, i.e., 4-5 bales per month.
The concern that our dust-extracted straw litter will be eaten by the eternally hungry four-legged friends is, according to our experience, unnecessary. Rye straw contains natural bitter substances. Short-fiber rye straw simply doesn't taste good! Nevertheless, you should transition from your old bedding to straw litter slowly, over 2-3 days, just as you wouldn't abruptly change feed, and offer plenty of roughage during this time.
