Original Höveler SENIOR-Cobs offer a high level of crude fiber, providing a way to ensure crude fiber intake – even in old age. If a horse has lost teeth or has severely worn them down, it is usually no longer able to ingest fiber-rich basic feed such as hay, grass, haylage, and straw in its natural form. However, horses need a minimum amount of roughage to maintain sensitive digestive processes, which should not fall below 1-1.5 kg per 100 kg of body weight. Weight loss and resulting reduced vitality are initial signs of insufficient intake of digestible crude fiber.
Original SENIOR-Cobs can be quickly prepared into a mash with warm water in a short time, thus enabling additional basic feed supply into old age.
If the ration contains too little basic feed or roughage, sensitivities of the digestive tract and metabolism can quickly occur.
